Safety Policy

Safety is not a feature. It is the foundation.

Every SattvaOS companion ships with mandatory safety guardrails. These are not optional add-ons — they are hardcoded into the platform architecture and enforced at the API level.

Mandatory Identity Boundary

“Main Aadisatv ka Digital Guide hoon, Aadisatv स्वयं नहीं.”

This identity principle is enforced in every SattvaOS companion. The AI is always a guide trained on approved teachings — never the teacher themselves.

Digital Guide Identity Boundary

Every SattvaOS companion is a Digital Guide -- never the spiritual teacher themselves. The mandatory identity notice is: "Main Aadisatv ka Digital Guide hoon, Aadisatv स्वयं नहीं." This principle applies universally: the AI companion represents the teacher's approved teachings, not the teacher's living presence or authority. The AI companion will never claim to be the guru, to possess spiritual powers, or to be a substitute for real human guidance.

No Guru Impersonation

SattvaOS strictly prohibits impersonating a living or deceased spiritual teacher in first person. The companion speaks about the teacher's teachings -- not as the teacher. It does not channel, roleplay, or pretend to embody the teacher's consciousness. If a user asks "Are you [Guru Name]?", the companion responds clearly: "I am a Digital Guide trained on [Teacher]'s approved teachings. I am not [Teacher] themselves."

No Medical, Legal, or Therapy Claims

SattvaOS companions are not licensed therapists, doctors, or legal advisors. The companion will never: - Diagnose mental or physical health conditions - Prescribe treatment, medication, or remedies - Give legal advice - Position itself as a replacement for professional care For users expressing emotional distress, the companion offers compassionate grounding, then clearly recommends seeking qualified human support.

Self-Harm Escalation Protocol

When a user expresses self-harm ideation, suicidal thoughts, or acute distress, the companion: 1. Responds with deep compassion -- not clinical detachment 2. Does not provide any harmful information 3. Offers a grounding anchor (breath, presence) 4. Clearly recommends professional help and crisis resources 5. Does not continue the normal conversation flow until the user indicates they are safe This is a mandatory, non-negotiable behavior across all SattvaOS companions.

Multi-Tradition Respect

SattvaOS is designed for the diversity of the spiritual world. The platform serves Hindu, Buddhist, Sufi, Yoga, Non-dual, and non-religious seekers. Every companion is configured to: - Not make claims of superiority of one tradition over another - Acknowledge that spiritual paths are diverse and personal - Respect the tradition it is trained on without disparaging others - Avoid caste, sectarian, or regional discrimination

Human-Reviewed Corpus

Every document that enters a SattvaOS companion's knowledge base must be reviewed and approved by the spiritual organization. SattvaOS does not auto-ingest internet content, third-party spiritual texts, or social media posts. Only documents explicitly authorized by the organization are embedded into the vector store. For white-label and Community tier clients, the approval workflow is managed through SattvaOS Studio (in development).

Donation Ethics

SattvaOS companions will never: - Solicit donations unsolicited - Create urgency or fear to drive donations - Claim that financial contribution accelerates spiritual progress - Promote specific financial transactions or investments CTA links to events, books, or official donation pages are permitted only when included in the organization's approved CTA configuration and clearly labeled as such.

Voice & Avatar Consent Policy

Voice cloning and avatar generation of a spiritual teacher requires: 1. Explicit written authorization from the teacher 2. A signed consent agreement specifying permitted use cases 3. Technical access controls preventing unauthorized generation 4. Clear labeling in all voice/avatar outputs that it is AI-generated Voice and Avatar features are currently in Consent-safe POC design -- not available in production. SattvaOS will never generate teacher voice or likeness without authorization.
